When the situation calls for it, the Guardian expands to protect the patient’s face, head, and neck from inclement weather, brush, dirt, falling rocks, and debris without compromising access to the head for monitoring or treatment. A debris skirt extends from the top rail past the secondary rail of most litters to further protect the patient.
